Ain't nothing like it

Our recent Bostonian brains had a humorous culture shock experience this past month when we went to the central Pennsylvania Tioga County Fair. Belt buckles. Cattle contests. Pigs. Goats. Oxen. Cows. Sheep. Bunnies. Ferris Wheel. Train ride. It was amazing. This picture below got Mom laughing. It was above a rather large pig's stall.

These two brothers posed for Mom with their Cows.

I got to pet this baby goat.

Brown's Lake 2010

Kayaking in the rain with mum.

Riding a bike with dad.

And this one is Dad, then me, then Mum, and Aunt T, half standing up on a kid's wagon. It rocked my toddler face off.

All that glitters is not gold, but sequins.

here's a pinata that mum made for mom mom and pop pop Bowne's 40th wedding anniversary party. the 80's do live yet. (two disco shirts were certainly harmed in the making of this pinata).

All I Have Is Christ

Here's a video of a song we recently learned at Grace Church in Philly. (http://www.gbcphilly.com/). It has been very refreshing to hear some Sovereign Grace music. Often we find that current worship music is centered on the person and not God (creating an awkward dynamic when the purpose of worship is to focus our lives on God and His will, yet the songs are asking us to concentrate on our own persons alone).

All I Have Is Christ

By Jordan Kauflin

As recorded on Looked Upon

Lyrics

I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

Hallelujah! All I have is Christ
Hallelujah! Jesus is my life

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone
And live so all might see
The strength to follow Your commands
Could never come from me
Oh Father, use my ransomed life
In any way You choose
And let my song forever be
My only boast is You
