THE SLUG BLOG

Sorry we've been slow on the blogs lately. The tragic news is that momma and I are heading to Pennsylvania tomorrow morning so you'll have to wait a few more days for any more blogging. But at least you can look forward to seeing a picture of me dressed in a moose costume at the annual Amish toddler eating contest.

Roasted-Root Vegetables

Kids my age have soothers.
Like stuffed animals, blankets, pacifiers, etc.
Aunt Kelly had a rabbit foot.
Mom had a baby blanket.
Dad had a Greek New Testament.

I personally had not chosen one until today.
Yes, my parents throw special, super-soft blankets as well as cuddly animals like lambie, bear, and Eeyore into my crib and say things like "Ahhh, lambie is so soft. Do you want to hold lambie while you sleep?"

But none of these animals or special blankets have ever come close to my roasted root vegetables. Their sweet honey glaze made me want to snuggle all night long with them in a giant baked bear hug.

I don't understand.

Why can't roasted root vegetables stay in my bed all night? Why did mom remove them from my crib after I carefully placed them there in my kid-safe bowl and my mini spoon with a sailboat on it?

May you find the roasted root vegetables you've been looking for and may the people close to you let you keep them there!

In the way

Yes, this is a video of my mother videotaping me in the Subway. That's just about the most touristy thing she could of done. We were on our way to the Aquarium where I met Myrtle, a sea turtle that is at least 70 years old and weighs over 500 lbs!
Dad said that I'll need to eat my squid to be that strong. Oh, and she eats brussel sprouts too. You can see a video of her swimming on this site: http://www.neaq.org/animals_and_exhibits/animals/green_sea_turtles/index.php

jelly

This video was taken on my last deep sea adventure in the depth of the ocean just off the coast of Wyoming. The voices you hear are those of the jelly fish themselves as they peer at me through the glass.

I have learned

I have learned that with a quick (and slick) flick of the wrist, I can lob things into the sink. Mom took this pick when she walked into the kitchen and saw my handy work.

Yes, that is a vacuum attachment.

Cage-Free Baby!

When these pics were taken, I was still crusty. I hatched a year and a half ago. Now I am a large chicken. Bawk Bawk Bawk. Peck. Cheep. Cheep.

It was Sunday.

Dad and Mom were playing Scattergories.

The letter was C.

The category was "College Majors."

Mom thought of nothing.

Mom left it blank.

Let us all have a moment of silence for my mother and her brain, who has a degree in Communications.

Home-made Warmth

This is a picture of Momma and I right after we found out that Dad is growing a third arm and will be on Oprah next month.

Our friend Swarty send us some amazing hats she made for us WITH HER OWN HANDS for our cold winters and they are fantastic. I look especially good in mine! Thank you for the gift of homemade warmth and love that we get to wear on our noggins.

P.S. - in this last picture we mixed up the hats just for kicks.
