Have any of you ever tried MagicJack? We're reading the info online and trying to decide if we should switch to this. Just curious. And if you're looking for a phone line on the cheap- you may want to check this one out.
How about Lingo? (Similar to Vonage, which we have now).
Or Phone Power?
Or Skype?

Skype is how Justin and I communicated while he was in Austria and it worked really well. We didn't use the video aspect, but his friend did and it worked well too. It seemed well priced as well. It would be cool for Simeon to get to see people while he talked to them, but you would have to have a webcam of course.

I have Skype at work for free and we have both phone and video capabilities. There is a version you pay for, but we are satisfied with what we have for free. Talked with a friend in Austria, and other here in Ft. Wayne - all on the same call.
Hey - here is another pro-skype user! Bill and I have had it for a while now and love it. We have a "headset" to put on for the mic and the ear part, and it works pretty well. I have to say my only complaint about it is that you have to be sitting next to the computer the whole time, unless you have a wireless set up. We pay $30 a year and it's international long distance - we also have kept the land line for incoming calls - and we pay about $13 a month for that through verizon. We only have the "call out" version of skype. :) Email if you want Bill to explain more!

Thanks Laura and Lambrights! We're going to give Magicjack a whirl- they have a free trial period.
I hope you gals and guys are well and enjoying life! It's good to hear your cyber voices!
Don't leave vonage, it's the best of all of them. We are fans of skype. Lett me know if you get it, Asher likes talking on it.
We had MagicJack in PA before we moved.
Never a problem or an issue. And it was CHEAP!!!
Always like a great deal.
Now that we moved, we just have cell phones for the both of us. Could have used the MagicJack but didn't want another phone hanging around the house.
